Alex completed his Bachelor of Dental Science (Summa Cum Laude) in 1989 and completed his Masters of Dental Science in 1992, both at the University of Melbourne. He opened his private Orthodontic Practice in Balaclava in 1993, and has more recently moved his practice to a state-of-the-art, modern, purpose-built facility in Armadale, Melbourne.

Alex has had a long-standing interest in Adult and Children’s Orthodontics, particularly in complex inter-disciplinary treatments. He is an advisory board member of the Melbourne Seattle Study Club, an international organisation devoted to furthering knowledge in multi-disciplinary treatments.

Alex is a clinical supervisor for orthodontic post-graduate students at the University of Melbourne, sharing his expertise and knowledge, particularly in the area of lingual orthodontics.

Alex believes in keeping up to date with advances in orthodontics and regularly attends national and international conferences, often presenting lectures himself. He is an avid photographer and conducts courses on clinical photography, digital smile design and utilisation of emerging 3D technologies to deliver better treatment results. Alex is always keen to embrace new technology where it enhances orthodontic treatment, and as a result, has recently introduced Suresmile into his practice.

In the little spare time that he has, Alex blends being a father to 2 teenaged children with travel, photography and a passion for remote-controlled aircraft.
